I read. I read a lot. I read articles on the internet, I read books, I read eBooks, I read magazines. I read to enhance my spirituality, my business skills, my time management skills, and my happiness. I often happen upon great information and as that relates to this site and as I’m given permission to share I will do so.
I recently happened upon the website of Michael Hyatt. Michael writes a blog that is focused on “intentional leadership.” His mission is to help leaders leverage their influence. As a result, he writes on personal development, leadership, productivity, platform, and publishing.
He recently wrote a blog post titled Four Reasons Why You Must Take Responsibility for Your Own Marketing. http://bit.ly/1fTz13C that I feel has some very important information. Although I pride Shanti Publishing on doing a good job of promoting and marketing you and your book(s), there is only so much time in the day and influence and reach that I, or any publisher can have.
Some great points (paraphrased):
- No one knows your book better than you.
- No one is more passionate about your book than you.
- No one has more skin in the game than you.
- No one is likely to do it if you don’t.
